For this project we were pleased to see a previous GR Kitchens customer come back to us and trust us with the design, supply and installation of a kitchen in their new home.
The challenges:
- Compact space
- Current kitchen layout and space just simply not working for the customer
During the kitchen consultations we discussed in depth with the customer about their own habits in the kitchen; this went down to the details such as what side of the hob they would normally food prep. Details like this ensured we could plan the limited worktop space was in the best place for the customer.
Our customer knew which units and products worked for them in their previous GR kitchen, so we could work these concepts into their new kitchen.
The solutions:
- To maximise space then we ensured the units we chose were the most useable for the customer and how their kitchen best functions for them. Examples included incorporating wide drawers, and a pull-out larder.
- We actually reduced the overall number of units – changing to an L-shape arrangement. By making sure the units were exactly suited to the customer, we could manage to reduce the units and maximise the compact space.
- Further to this we incorporated details such as utilising an undermount sink to ensure there is no worktop space lost for a draining board.
A compact space kitchen project can seem overwhelming but taking time to consider how you use your kitchen can help our designers guide you to the right products to suit your needs in your space.
